English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

Achieve your academic and career goals in a supportive Christian community.

The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program is for international students who score a minimum of a 6 on the IELTS or a 70 on the TOEFL iBT. It offers English and academic instruction to help you meet the language proficiency requirements you need to begin studies at Briercrest College.

Take courses focused on building English and academic language skills, intercultural experience, and critical thinking skills. As a member of the Briercrest community, you will be enriched personally, spiritually, and academically through rich campus life.

No extra tuition fees

Students should be able to choose education based on what they value, not what they can afford. At Briercrest, international students pay the same tuition as any other student.

Grow academically

Become a life-long, passionate learner! This program will not just prepare you to pass an English test—it will prepare you to learn to the best of your ability in the college classroom.

Join our community

Learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. At Briercrest, it also happens in a caring Christian environment full of opportunities. Enjoy chapel services, life in dorm, and serving while you study at Briercrest.

Cost of the Program

Tuition will be equivalent to a full-time course load of five courses per semester with no international tuition fee.  Room, books, and other fees will be the same as domestic students.  Students choose the meal plan that is most suitable to their needs. With an average meal plan, students should expect to pay approximately $18,500 CAD per year.  Students should plan to apply early to Admissions to comfortably navigate the academic and immigration processes in a timely manner.
