Background

I was born and raised in small-town southern Manitoba, where I developed a love for learning, exploring, and eating good food. After graduating from high school, I attended the Torchbearers Bible School in Albania and decided to pursue a degree in nutrition. I completed my degrees at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, where I met my husband, Chris Kayler. We got married in 2016 and moved to Saskatchewan in 2017 for Chris to begin his position here at Briercrest College. We now call Moose Jaw home and have two lively boys, Ben and James. When I’m not running after them, I work part-time at Hunger in Moose Jaw, where I coordinate cooking classes. Throughout my career, I have taught hundreds of cooking and nutrition classes in schools and community organizations across the Prairies and in Rochester, NY. I love teaching nutrition because I believe that it is instrumental in helping people make “the healthy choice, the easy choice”.
