Briercrest Music Festival

Join us at Briercrest College, May 26-27, 2027, for a local school music festival, including a mini-masterclass for each group from a Briercrest professor!

Our music festival is an adjudicated experience designed to inspire and develop young musicians. Bands perform on May 26th and choirs on May 27th. Each group receives dedicated performance time, expert adjudication from college faculty, and a live masterclass after their performance. The day will also finish with a collaboration piece with all of our groups as well as an evening feature show put on by Briercrest!

All events are hosted in our on-campus chapel, creating a professional and inspiring atmosphere. It is a meaningful festival with Music United in Faith and Excellence.

May 25, 2027: Elementary Day

Each elementary school will perform 6-8 minutes of repertoire. This will be followed by a mini masterclass led by one of our music professors. Jazz bands can also register.

Chris Kayler will offer mini-lessons for instrumentalists on a first-come, first-served basis. Check back for sign-up details! 

May 26, 2027: Band Day

Each band will perform 6-8 minutes of repertoire. This will be followed by a mini masterclass led by one of our music professors. Jazz bands can also register.

This day will end with a showcase concert and collaborative piece. In the evening there will also be a performance put on by Briercrest with high level instrumental performances!

May 27, 2027: Choir Day

Each choir will perform 6-8 minutes of repertoire. This will be followed by a mini masterclass led by one of our music professors.

This day will end with a showcase concert where each choir can perform for its peers AND perform a collaborative piece (music will be sent out ahead of time). Participating groups will be invited to view a Summer Stage musical dress rehearsal put on by Briercrest!
