Student Government

Purpose: Together, the Briercrest student government works to create an environment and culture in which all students might truly follow Christ's call on their lives while at Briercrest.

Mission: We, the Student Government, intend to fulfill our purpose and lead the Student Body by listening, speaking, uplifting, praying, and serving in the Name of Jesus. We aim to accurately represent and discern the best interests of college students and communicate them to the appropriate bodies with students and faculty. We seek to coordinate events and activities that enrich and encourage students’ spiritual, relational, and academic lives. We believe God desires for us to conform to Christ-likeness and that the Student Body also desires to be led by fellow peers towards this same end. We are fellow Briercrest College students contributing to a rigorous learning community that calls students to seek the kingdom of God, be profoundly shaped by the scriptures, and be formed spiritually and intellectually for lives of service

The Briercrest College Student Government team, comprised of student leaders, works to create an environment and culture in which all students might truly follow Christ's call on their lives while at Briercrest.

The team is comprised of the Student Body President, the Vice President of Administration and the Vice President of Academics, as well as several Coordinators who lead student teams, such as Outreach and Events.  

The Presidential Team – comprising the Student Body President and the Vice Presidents – leads the team of Coordinators and the Student Body by setting goals for the Student Body in line with the purpose and mission of the Student Government, as outlined in the Constitution, and through regular participation in college chapels.

The team of Coordinators is responsible for coordinating events and initiatives for the Student Body, such as the Christmas Banquet and Outreach initiatives. Each coordinator has a volunteer team of students they oversee.

The Student Government team is held accountable by the Board of Representatives, which is comprised of Residential Assistants. The Board of Representatives is responsible for representing the Student Body and advising and assisting the Presidential Team, ensuring that all parties involved abide by the Briercrest College Student Government Constitution.
