Learn how to be rooted in the unchanging truth of Scripture and equipped for today's rapidly changing ministry contexts. With broad study and hands-on internships, students gain the knowledge and practical experience they need to navigate ministry. Choose from four concentrations that will prepare you to work in a church or parachurch organization.

  • Small, discussion-based classes.
  • Coursework in biblical and theological studies is required for all degrees, as well as liberal arts disciplines. Service Learning requirements for all graduates.

  • Includes a one-year internship.

Unique Program Features

This program will equip students for effective service and leadership in a church or parachurch setting. Students will receive quality classroom instruction in theoretical and practical ministry, along with hands-on ministry experience with qualified mentors. The program also emphasizes biblical and theological knowledge and spiritual formation.

MINISTRY INTERNSHIP

Each concentration includes an extended internship in a church or para-church setting, under the direction of a qualified ministry mentor to help students discover their gifts, discern their calling, deepen their spiritual formation, and develop lifelong mentors.

These internships require a minimum of 30 hours of weekly ministry experience and typically are taken over two semesters of study (8 months).

Pastoral Ministry

Graduates gain a strong biblical foundation and key ministry skills, including preaching, pastoral care, and leadership. They are well- prepared to impact their communities and lead pastoral teams or local churches.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Studies concentration prepares individuals to engage with and support young people, helping them grow in their faith and navigate life's challenges. Many graduates step into careers in youth or camp ministry, finding opportunities in both church and parachurch settings.

Children's Ministry

Children's ministry environments require many volunteers, so our program focuses on team building and volunteer development. This prepares graduates to foster supportive communities for both children and volunteers.

Worship Ministry

Provides graduates with skills in preaching, worship leadership, and volunteer recruitment, preparing them for dual roles like Worship/Youth or Worship/Associate leadership. Worship/Youth or Worship/Associate leadership, making them strong candidates for leadership positions.

Strong Theological Foundation

All our programs are based on a solid understanding of Scripture. You will learn to read and study the Bible for yourself and develop a biblical worldview that will inform your ministry. With this knowledge, you will be equipped to serve the church and the world in ways that glorify God.

Communication Skills

As a ministry student, you will learn how to communicate the gospel clearly and effectively. You will also learn how to lead and manage people in a church context. This knowledge and experience will prepare you for a life of impactful ministry.

Ministry Skills

Prepare for ministry however and wherever you are called. Combine practical biblical and ministry training with perspectives from the social sciences, religious studies, and intercultural studies. You will gain skills and insights to help you serve with excellence and make a lasting difference.
